I was working at a dog party recently, held by Unleashed in Nairn. There were a few small business stalls set up, but one stall in particular peaked my interest: The Barefoot Caster, so I went over to say hello and this is what I learnt…

The Barefoot Caster is run by the lovely Emma. She really is the most approachable person ever and will always greet you with a smile. I love the idea of combining my photography with casting, so decided to write this blog to bring some awareness to her business.

Created by Emma, a skilled and trained caster with a keen eye for detail, each casting is beautiful designed to inspire emotion and nurture a connection.

How Does the Casting Process Work?

The Barefoot Caster makes the casting process an enjoyable, easy, and memorable experience. The process begins with a safe and comfortable mold-making session, where the hands, feet, or paws are gently placed into a high-quality, skin-safe material. Within minutes, a perfect mold is formed, capturing every detail down to the smallest creases.

Once the mold is ready, it’s carefully cleaned and filled with stone. After a period of setting, the cast is cleaned, refined, and finished with a custom colour, based on the client’s preferences.
Each casting is crafter with care and  attention to detail to make sure it meets clients’ expectations. The Barefoot Caster guides clients throughout the process, ensuring they feel comfortable and involved in each step.
